Covid-19 - your safety

The safety of our visitors and stafff is paramount here at Cockfields Farm Park.

Due to the current Coronavirus Pandemic we have had to change the way we run the farm to make sure we can provide a safe & enjoyable experience for everyone.

We’re delighted to be awarded the VisitEngland ‘We’re Good to Go’ industry charter mark. This verifies that our farm park meets the Government and public health guidance on COVID-19 and that we have all the required health and safety processes in place.

Please note since we located in Greater Manchester, a Tier 3 area in the Greater Manchester, we would like to emphaises that:

  • You are not allowed to meet up with other households indoors OR outdoors anywhere on the Farm . If you have booked another household with your tickets then email us for advice here.
  • You are advised not to travel from out of the Area to us. If you are from outside Greater Manchester please email for us for advice here.
  • Facemasks are compulsory in all indoor areas on the farm. We ask that you help us by wearing them properly.
  • Please keep a 2 meter distance between yourself and other families on the farm. even if you know them.
  • Do not visit us if you are feeling unwell or have been asked to isolate.
  • Wash your hands and use hand sanitiser regularly around the Farm.

In addition to the above here are some of the measures that we have put in place along with with answers to frequently asked questions.

We ask that you respect our staff at all times. 

And most importantly have a fun day out with us.

To help ensure the safety of our visitors and staff we have  the following new safety measures. 

  • We now only accept online bookings for the farm and have implemented a staggered entry system to ensure we can manage numbers on site at any one time. When booking your tickets please arrive promptly at the time you book.
  • We have a social distance queuing system in place for when you arrive, along with safety information at the farms entrance.
  • We have installed perspect screens at our tills to ensure both staff and visitors are protected.
  • We have added additional handwashing and sanistising stations across the farm included outside of our play areas. We are also actively encouraging people to wash and sanitise their hands regularly.
  • We have a dedicated member of staff constantly on cleaning patrol sanitising all surfaces including play areas and the carousel throughout the day. 
  • We have installed one-way systems in our indoor buildings with social distancing markers. Please adhere to these at all times.
  • Our toilet facilities have been halved to provide better social distancing and the frequency of cleaning has been enhanced.
  • All indoor areas and play zones will be monitored for overcrowding throughout the day. 
  • We have altered our Animal Handling sessions providing plenty of room for social distancing with your family group.
  • In our cafe we have cut seating capacity by two thirds. We will be serving a limited menu to provide a faster service and have added outdoor catering facilities at busier times. We have also installed additional picnic benches outside.

Before your visit to the farm please read the below.

  • You must book your tickets online before you enter, we will not be selling tickets on the door .
  • Do not visit us if you or any of your household are feeling unwell or have been asked to isolate.
  • Please ensure that you bring a mask for each adult and children over 11 years old.
  • We will not be accepting cash only card payments.
  • Our Farm will be open all day but we have implemented a staggered entry system to ensure we can manage numbers on site at any one time. when booking your tickets please arrive promptly at the time you book.

On arrival at the farm please ensure: 

  • You follow the one way system to enter the queue.
  • Keep 2 meters apart from the next family in the queue
  • Use the hand sanitiser next to the entrance.
  • Put on your mask before entering. 
  • Only enter the building when asked to.
  • Have you ticket information ready and available .

Please note we will not be sellling tickets on the entrance to the farm.  You should not visit without booking tickets onlibe before hand. 

Should we have to cancel an event due to Covid -19 Restrictions we will endeavour to move your booking to another date or the value of your tickets to be used against visits / events on the farm once we reopen. we are afraid no refunds can be given 

We have drastically reduced our visitor numbers on both peak and off peak days and at events.

If you purchased tickets for an event while we were in lockdown we have made all these tickets redeemable  until the end of October 2020.

Being a farm park with animal contact we have always been very strict on cleanliness.

In addition we now have a dedicated member  of staff patrolling the farm constantly cleaning contact surfaces including play areas and the carousel.

We have also increase the number of hand-wash points on the exits from our animal contact areas and we have installed hand sanitiser points around the farm.  

Yes you can still hand feed the farm animals, however  you must wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds before you leave the barn as hand sanitiser will not safeguard against some animal diseases like ECOLI 0157.

Yes we have a dedicated Animal barn with plenty of space to ensure social distancing, and strict hygiene practices in place.

Due to the current restrictions unfortunately our  Role Play Area and  Straw Mountain will be closed.

Yes our Outdoor Play Areas are open. We will be adding a limit to the number of family groups who can use these areas at one time.  We ask for your cooperation in operating a fair use policy.

Yes our cafe is open, however we are currently operating a reduced menu  to help speed up service. To comply with social distancing restrictions, we have also reduced the amount of seating to seating and installed a one way system.

We will also be providing outdoor catering during busy period and have increased our outdoor seating.  

We ask you please to help keep our staff safe by clearing your table and washing your hands when finished.

Yes picnics are welcome but you must use the outdoor picnic benches and dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided.

We will be operating a cashless system at the farm for the foreseeable future.

We do accept contactless and chip and pin card payments along with Applepay. 

On booking tickets to the famr you will be allocated an arrival time to help reduce the number of visitors entering. 

Please ensure you arrive on time for your visit.

Once on the farm you can they stay for the rest of the day until closing.
